The chief of the famous Gaulish village, Vitalstatistix loves to travel by shield carried by two villagers. He is fearless and mostly fair, and loves good food and drink more than anything else, so it's a good job that he's married to the best cook in the village, Impedimenta! He's the man in charge, who gives Asterix and Obelix the go ahead for their adventures.
The venerable village druid prepares many magic potions, but his greatest triumph is the concoction that gives superhuman strength to anyone who consumes it.
Cacofonix is the village bard. He loves to sing and play the lyre, and never passes up on opportunity to show off – although his singing has been known to be so awful, it strikes fear into the hearts of anyone who hears it... even the fearless Normans!
One of the village's most beautiful young women and the daughter of Soporifix, Panacea plays an important role in some of Asterix's adventures... and holds the keys to Obelix's heart.
